About the Work
You'll find me drawing visitors at the Chicago History Museum
on an afternoon about once every week. Parties in Chicago
are great, but drawing people from all over the world is truly
awesome. It is an honor. I'm set up in the spacious,
sun-drenched gift shop and I draw who ever sinks down in that
luxurious black chair in front of me. It's free. People
often ask twice and yes, it really is free. It's a generous
gift from the Chicago History Museum to the curious who set
foot on our shores. So, give me your tired, your tourists,
your locals, your interesting, your interested. I'll
draw you in the theme of the day.
The theme of most days until July 2009 will be Chic Chicago.
I'll draw you in the fabulous gown of your choice. For information
about this exhibit and announcements of when I'm scheduled to draw
there--remember, free!--please, visit the Chicago
History Museum Shop page.
Sometimes special events will preempt the Chic Chicago theme.
For example, during "Fire Frenzy" week I drew everyone
as a determined survivor of the Great Chicago Fire of October
1871, including the high school kids from Bari, Italy, who came
by on their field trip that week. The Fourth of July also
gets a special treatment when I draw everyone as a red-white-and-blue
patriot.
